Griffi for metalwork: your calls answered while you are welding in the workshop.

A new railing for the front steps, a yard gate that no longer closes or a broken hinge: Griffi answers the call, asks the questions you set and files the location, the request and the callback number as one case. Measuring, specification and price stay with you.

Fictional, synthetically generated example call. Real Griffi views (German interface) with sample data.

Three typical enquiries

How Griffi takes the enquiry.

Scenario 1

A new railing at the front door

Call: A homeowner wants a railing for the outside steps at the front door and asks when someone can come and measure up.

Questions Griffi asks

  1. Record the address, callback number and contact person.
  2. Note where the railing should go and roughly how many steps or metres, as the customer estimates.
  3. Note the wish for material and finish, for example galvanised or powder-coated in a colour.
  4. Clarify the preferred timeframe and offer a measuring visit or note a callback, depending on your setup.

Outcome: A complete enquiry with a measuring visit or a callback. You settle dimensions, specification and price on site.

Scenario 2

A yard gate that no longer closes

Call: Late in the afternoon a business reports that the sliding gate to its yard will not shut and the site would stay open overnight.

Questions Griffi asks

  1. Record the company, address, contact person on site and callback number.
  2. Ask straight away about danger: injured or trapped people, a gate leaf that could topple over.
  3. Note what the caller can see: manual or motorised gate, what no longer works and since when.
  4. Give no instructions for releasing, switching off or repairing anything.

Outcome: If there is danger: keep clear and call the emergency services. Otherwise an urgent callback under your on-call rule, with every detail in the case and no remote assessment.

Scenario 3

A repair to an existing part

Call: A customer explains that a hinge on her garden gate has snapped and the gate is hanging crooked.

Questions Griffi asks

  1. Clarify which part it is and what it is made of, as far as the customer knows.
  2. Ask whether the part can be brought to the workshop or has to be repaired on site.
  3. Note the address and access in case someone needs to go out.
  4. Ask when the customer can be reached for a callback or a visit.

Outcome: The case shows what is broken, where it is and whether it comes to the workshop. You decide whether to repair it or make a new one.

Quotes and invoices

Which documents Griffi prepares.

01 · Live

Measuring on site

Enquiry, location, wishes and the agreed appointment are one case before you drive out to measure.

02 · Live as draft

Quote

After measuring, Griffi prepares a quote draft from your details. You check the items and prices.

03 · Manual handoff

Interim payment

Deposit and interim invoices, for example for materials, are not an automated Griffi feature; they stay in your existing process.

04 · Live as invoice draft

Final invoice

After fitting and your check, a standard invoice can be prepared, reviewed by you and sent manually.

Important: down-payment and partial invoices are not currently a dedicated automated Griffi feature. Interim payments remain in the company’s existing invoicing process; Griffi records information and tasks without promising automation that does not exist.

Emergency service & on-call duty

Gates and doors that no longer close follow your rules.

  • Injured or trapped people or a gate leaf that could topple over lead to the fixed safety message: keep clear and call the emergency services.
  • Griffi gives no instructions for releasing, switching off or repairing a gate or its motor.
  • Whether an open business site or a door that no longer locks counts as urgent, your service area and the callback order follow only the rules you have approved.

Live handover to the company is used only when enabled with a valid on-call number and suitable telephony configuration. Otherwise Griffi records a structured urgent callback. For immediate danger, callers must contact emergency services themselves; Griffi never transfers to emergency services.

Frequently asked questions

Does Griffi quote dimensions or prices for a railing?

No. Griffi records what the customer estimates, such as the number of steps, and their preferred finish. You take the measurements on site and give the price in your quote.

Can I decide what Griffi asks about an enquiry?

Yes. Griffi asks the questions you set, for example about location, material, finish and preferred timeframe, and records the answers in the case.

What does Griffi do when a gate on a business yard no longer closes?

Griffi records the company, address and callback number and asks about danger first. If there is danger, Griffi tells the caller to keep clear and call the emergency services themselves. Otherwise it records an urgent callback under your rules. Griffi only puts the call through to your on-call number if you have set up that handover.

Can Griffi book measuring visits?

Yes, with the Appointments & Follow-up module in addition to the AI Phone. Griffi then offers free slots from your Google or Microsoft calendar or from fixed time windows. Without the module, Griffi notes the preferred time and you call back.

Does Griffi write the quote for the railing?

Griffi prepares a quote draft, for example from what you dictate after measuring. You check the items and prices, approve the quote and send it yourself.
